ABOUT
Hello I’m Joshua - Aspiring Architect, Photographer, and Pianist

My work varies across a vast array of different creative mediums yet all share the highest quality possible. I believe that good design, photography, and performance simply requires good intentions. So, no matter the field I am pursuing, I think critically of the meaning and effects behind my decisions.

My path has been a winding road of new creative outlets that allows the exploration of my endless imagination. Since the age of eight, I’ve been a creator. Where I would make any toy I wanted out of paper, cardboard, and tape. By the age of nine, I dove into the world of lego where I built any set I wanted beyond the age difficulty recommendation. With lego, I started creating stop-motion animations and drawings. During my teen years, I began to explore the world of video games such as minecraft and animal crossing that allowed me to build to my hearts content. From this early era of my life, I learned that life provides infinite opportunities for creative expression.

Such lessons led me towards the life of a competitive pianist. Fascinated by the worlds of great composers, I developed the skills of reasoning and analysis combined with individual expression through the piano. Eventually, in 2023, my piano career led to an acceptance to UC Berkeley. Since the music major was under the College of Letters and Sciences, I was automatically enrolled as an undeclared student. With this clean academic slate, I decided to pursue a major in Architecture under the College of Environmental Design.
From the change in major, I began to see the world open up with new opportunities. Combined with a trip to Japan, I decided to pick up photography. I love the ability of capturing the unique way I see the world, people, and my own work.

Combining my childhood interest in creation, my skills as a classically trained competitive pianist, and my creative eye as a photographer, I learned how to thrive in my architectural studies, already receiving great acclaim for my work by my professors. With my current education in architecture, I’ve learned to think about the effects of my creative decisions and how my design works with the world around it.
